Visit to Naleshwar Lake

I reached the “Wildcat resort Tadoba” on 22^{nd December} with my family. I just wanted to relax in the luxurious resort and spend my time leisurely writing in the peaceful atmosphere. There is absolutely no disturbance over here. The only sounds which come are from birds and surprisingly each voice has a different melody. But then I had my husband with me, who is a restless soul and will always be looking out for some thrill and adventure. He is very much at home in this area as he hails from the same place.  After a good sleep, the previous night I was aching to have a walk in the fresh air. We decided to go to the Nalleshwar lake which is around 10 kms away from the resort. I agreed as I was feeling quite energized with the delicious and wholesome breakfast at the resort. The weather was pleasant and sunny. It was a 25 mins drive and the road was quite good. Around 2 km of the road became narrow as we neared the place. We could drive right upto the lake. We decided to explore the area further which turned out to be worth it. For tourists who are new to this area, It’s recommended to take a local person along as they can venture into hidden from the main landscape. There was a large lake surrounded by the Tadoba jungle on all three sides. On the right side there was a high road similar to a dam structure where we can walk and have a breathtaking view of the jungle and the lake. On the left side the water ends up in the jungle and serves a water body for wild animals which come there usually at night. We could see there were boards put on many trees as a warning. It was a tiger area for sure. Some trees has cameras installed to track the tiger movement. We walked almost up to the end of the road. While returning back suddenly my husband pointed out to something on the ground. I looked at it and froze. They were pug marks. Fresh…., totally fresh as if we had been followed by him. As we were walking back they were all on the way and ended up in some bushes. I was dead scared and almost ran and jumped into the car. I kept thinking on my way back “If the sight of pug marks of a tiger made me so scared, how would I react if I saw one face to face?”
